College Planning Programs
GETDC College Prep Sessions
Sessions are held throughout the year and cover topics such a: finding the college that's right for you, how to complete a college application, how to write a personal essay, preparing for interviews, and how to pay for college, including financial aide options. Speakers at the College Prep Sessions include high school guidence counselors, instructors from Kaplan Educational Testing and college admissions officers.
GETDC College Tour
Each Fall, the GETDC takes students in grades 10 through 12 on a three-day tour of colleges and universities in the mid-Atlantic region. Our tours have included Georgetown, Morgan State, American University, the University of Maryland-College Park, and Howard University. The tours are educational, informative, and FUN, providing future co-eds with a up-close view of college life. At each stop students will tour the campus and meet with college representation.
